Shinonome is a dragon member of the Council of Six, and she's the Dofus sister of the Eliatrope Qilby. Like him, she retains all her memories from her past lives over their reincarnation cycle. In the present, Shinonome is dead and confined to her and Qilby's Dofus, having been killed during Orgonax's attack on the new Eliatrope civilization in -10,000 (though it is unclear whether she was killed by Orgonax or during Yugo and Qilby's duel) and being unable to reincarnate while Qilby remains imprisoned in the White Dimension.

Her Dofus is guarded by Phaeris on the Crimson Claw archipelago in the present day, until a freed Qilby seizes it and attempts to resume his plans of forcing their people to cruise the Krosmoz and drain worlds of their wakfu. She and Qilby are reunited at the end of Season 4 when Qilby dies saving Yugo and his soul returns to their Dofus.

Appearance[]

WakfuQilbyShinonome

Shinonome's face during Qilby's flashback to the war.

Shinonome is a ruby-red colored dragon, and her adult form has a set of horns curving from her forehead, and another curving backwards from her lower jaw. She has a small horn on her nose, and two long whiskers. She has gold eyes, a gold gem on her forehead, and a yellow stripe that starts as a swirl on her cheeks and runs the length of her body. She mainly appears as a silhouette inside the red Dofus.

Personality[]

It's ambiguous if she suffers the same insanity as Qilby does from having a millennia-long eidetic memory which transcends reincarnation. According to Qilby, she is the only one who always supported him, whereas the rest of their siblings were allegedly somewhat neglectful towards the all-remembering Eliatrope. It's implied that she supported Qilby's machinations that led to the Mechasm war and the Eliatropes' exodus at first.

She's apparently more cautious and conscientious than her brother, and acts as a minder to his more insane ideas. Millennia after her death and return to her Dofus, she appears to have changed her mind about Qilby's plan to force their people to become nomads, telling Qilby during the fight in Emrub that he needs to stop because his plan has caused and is causing too much suffering and devastation to their people, and making it clear that she doesn't think it was all worth it anymore. She also cautions Qilby that his plan to antagonize the Mechasm Lokus so he can create a replacement for the Eliacube is a bad idea.

Islands of Wakfu[]

Shinonome never appears directly in the game but is implied to have supported Qilby until her death. It can be assumed that she was killed by Orgonax or someone else before Qilby's duel with Phaeris and Yugo. She has one quote on the loading screen, which references her brother.

Animated Series[]

During the Wakfu era, Shinonome is still in her Dofus, having been unable to reincarnate for 10,000 years due to Qilby's imprisonment. Her Dofus is fought over by Yugo and Qilby, before being used by Qilby to open several portals. During the fight in Emrub, she communicates with Qilby although she is still inside her Dofus, and asks him to stop fighting against Yugo since the cost of his quest is too high, releasing a blast of Stasis from her Dofus that severs Qilby's Eliacube arm, essentially ending the fight. She then makes one last verbal plea with her brother to repent his crimes, which he rejects, prompting Yugo to reimprison him in the White Dimension. Shinonome's Dofus is left in the care of Balthazar.

Somehow, Shinonome's Dofus has made it out of Emrub before the events of the OVAs, and it's reunited with the other five Eliatrope Dofus. The combined power of the six Dofus is subsequently used by Yugo against Ogrest, by Adamaï, and finally by Qilby. Qilby converses with Shinonome inside their Dofus before he fights the Mechasm Lokus in order to create an Eliasphere, acknowledging Shinonome's caution that it's an insanely risky idea. Shortly after Qilby defeats Lokus and is fatally injured in the process, he takes comfort in knowing he and Shinonome are about to be reunited before he dies and his wakfu returns to their Dofus, reunited at last.

Relationships[]

Qilby[]

Shinonome is Qilby's dragon twin, hatched from the same Dofus. They share the ability to remember all their past lives, aside from their other siblings. Qilby has nothing but adoration for Shinonome, feeling that she's the only one of their siblings who ever understood and cared for him on account of their shared curse. Before the fall of the Eliatrope civilization, Shinonome apparently supported Qilby's goal of returning to the stars. Millennia later in the present, however, Shinonome from inside her Dofus morosely turns against her brother and literally disarms him of the Eliacube, stating that their actions which he insists on continuing have caused their own people too much suffering and weren't worth it. Before Qilby's fight with Lokus, Shinonome cautions her brother that antagonizing the Mechasm is a very bad idea.

Yugo[]

Shinonome helps Yugo in the fight against her brother in Emrub after reasoning with him doesn't work. In their previous incarnation, it can be assumed that Yugo and Shinonome were enemies because she agreed with Qilby more.

Orgonax[]

Orgonax is potentially responsible for the death of Shinonome in her previous life.

Efrim[]

In the seemingly non-canon Islands of Wakfu game, it can be assumed that Shinonome and Efrim had the same mentor-student relationship that Qilby and Nora had prior to the events of the game since the twins seem to share the same roles (Mina and Phaeris as mediators, Adamai and Yugo as explorers and presumably kings as well).

In the animated series canon, Efrim is at the very least aware that Qilby and Shinonome's eternal memories have driven Qilby insane.
