Phaeris was the powerful dragon brother of the Eliatrope priestess Mina. He was, like his sister, gifted with the wisdom to solve the quarrels of the Eliatropes. During the events of the Wakfu series he lived in the Crimson Claw archipelago in order to protect Shinonome's Dofus. When Qilby and Yugo fought for the Dofus, he defended Yugo against Qilby and a possessed Adamaï.
He was eventually killed by Jiva during the events of the manga on Yugo's birthday and has rejoined his sister Mina in their Dofus.
History[]
Pre-primordial era[]
Near the beginning of the Krosmoz (universe), The Great Goddess Eliatrope and The Great Dragon performed a second dance, from which the 6 Firstborn Eliatropes and their twin sibling Dragons were born. Phaeris is one of these 6 Firstborn Eliatrope Dragons, with Mina as his Eliatrope twin sister. Together, they are guardians of the Eliatropes and Dragons.
Being of the 6 Firstborns for their respective races, both are members of the Eliatrope Council, which serves the role of guiding and protecting the Eliatropes and Dragons.
Primordial era[]
At some point in their history, an alien technology-centric race known as the Mechasms settled on the Eliatrope & Dragon homeworld. For centuries they lived in peace, even working together to build a society woven of both Magic and Technology. However, the peace was broken suddenly when the Mechasms declaired war on the Eliatropes as a result of Qilby (one of Phaeris brothers and fellow council members) stole The Heart of Orgonax from the youngest of the Mechasms (Orgonax himself), which enraged the Mechasms. The war escalated to a point where the Eliatropes fled their homeworld, seeking another habitable world out in the Krosmoz.
Arrival to the world of twelve and the 2nd mechanism war[]
They eventually find the pre inhabited world of twelve and settle on it for centuries, but then Qilby reactives the elicube revealing their location to the mechanism, this leads the 2nd eliatrope-mechanism war. But this time the council discovers Qilby's deceit and during the fight to banish him Phaeris bites his left arm off and Yugo kicks him into the portal to the blank dimension. Phaeris would than take Qilby's dofus to the crimson claw archipelago to guard and from this point Phaeris is no longer seen.
Season 2[]
Phaeris is seen by the brotherhood of the tofu attacking the naval fleet of the prince and ruler of the island he has made the keep of Qilby and Shinonome dofus, the prince wishes to mine the island and their operations has brought them too close to discovering the dofus. Yugo tries to calm the situation but then Qilby arrives from a massive portal in the sky above the island now revealing himself as the mad eliatrope historian, he has brought an arm of shushu's along with their leader and a shushu possess adami. Qilby had come to claim his dofus, to kill or capture phaeris and yugo as revenge and take the eliatrope Children with him to the stars on the Zinit ship which will consume all life on the world of twelve to power the flight. After a hard fought battle Qilby is defeated and Phaeris is relieved of his duty to protect Qilby's dofus as it is now guarded by Baltazar in Emrub. His last seen flying the brotherhood of the tofu back to the mainland.
Death (Wakfu manga vol 1)[]
Phaeris goes to yugo and adamai's birthday and during the celebration they are attacked by Jiva one the guardians of the month, a time guardian and follower of the time god Xelor. Phaeris puts up the biggest fight against, but lets Jiva kill him in the end in order to protect everyone. By the end Phaeris is at peace as he wishes to see his precious sister again and he trust Yugo and his friends will succeed. His last seen warning Yugo in a dream about the guardian of Mount Zinit.
Appearance[]
Phaeris' true form is that of a teal-blue dragon with a grey underbelly and wing membranes. He has white claws and a white mane, as well as three sets of stubby white horns. The pupils of his eyes glow with the familiar blue color of Wakfu, and he appears to have glowing gill slits on his neck of the same color.
He is shown to be able to turn into a humanoid form reminiscent of an Osamodas in dragon form. In this appearance, his skin retains the teal-blue color of his dragon form, while one set of stubby white horns protrudes from the back of his head, and bat-like ears droop down. His humanoid body is very lean, with distinct musculature. Hard, dull spike-like growths protrude from his elbows. He retains his wings while the gill-like slits seen on the neck of his dragon form move to his ribs. He wears a pair of torn beige pants held up by a thick rope belt.
Powers and ablilities[]
Phaeris as a dragon, was already born powerful. He is also said to be the most powerful dragon in the council.
- Flight: Being a dragon he is capable of flying at high speeds in both human and dragon froms. Though in human form he seems to need to sprout wings to do this.
- Strength: Phaeris is immensely strong. He is possibly as strong as a god.
- Durability: Phaeris is very tough. He can be shot at with a stasis blasts (a beam of pure destruction) and keep fighting on like nothing happened. He was also able to withstand Qilby's Wakfu blasts, as well as multiple fights with Adamai under control by Anathar.
- Wisdom: Phaeris was the keeper of Wisdom amongst the eliatrope people and him and his sister used it to maintain peace.
- Wakfu blasts: Phaeris can shoot gigantic beams of destructive Wakfu and still fight without getting himself tired. In the fight against Qilby, while Adamai was under control of Anathar, he was able to produce a huge Wakfu blast from his entire body that took down an entire cave and possibly disoriented Qilby and Anathar.
- Wakfu Sensing: Being a dragon Phaeris is capable of seeing people's wakfu as well as the wakfu currents.
- Magic: Phaeris like all Dragons and Eliatropes is a powerful user of wakfu and is capable of using magic. Including moving a large peace of mountain move without even touching it, in the manga he is also shown to be able to make himself invisible.
- Shape shifting: As a dragon, Phaeris can transform into different animals and from his human and dragon forms.
- Fire breathing: Being a dragon, he can breath fire and in huge amounts.
- Semi-Immortality: Being a dragon, Phaeris enjoys eternal life, so it cannot die from diseases and old age, but it can still be killed by weapons.
- Reincarnation: When Phaeris dies his wakfu returns to his dofus (egg) and he will be reborn with his sister with no memory of thier past life.
Personality[]
Phaeris has been shown to be fierce. He is a formidable warrior and is very wise. He is also a very mysterious being. Seeing his kindness to Yugo and proving loyal and protective to him and Adamai, he is very generous. He is also very selfless shown when he gave his life so Jiva wouldn't harm anyone at yugo's birthday party.
Relationships[]
Mina[]
Mina is Phaeris' Eliatrope twin sister, born from the same Dofus. Before Orgonax attacked the Eliatrope civilization on what would become the World of Twelve, Mina and Phaeris used their wisdom to resolve the quarrels of their people. Upon being slain by Jiva Phaeris admitted in his final moments admitted to having missed his sister and was happy to reunite with her in their dofus.
Yugo[]
Phaeris is undoubtedly loyal and protective to Yugo and Adamai. He gave Yugo temporary gifts to use a sword and shield made out of pure Wakfu, to aid him in the fight against Qilby. And later guarded and taught Yugo and Adamaì, aswell as sacrificing himself to Jiva so she wouldn't harm them. Phaeris used his final moments to comfort and reassure them on his death.
Qilby[]
Phaeris likely had a good relationship with Qilby before the Mechasim war. However when Phaeris found out that Qilby betrayed their people causing a genocide Phaeris helped Yugo to banish him to the white dimension. He also ripped of Qilby's arm. After this Phaeris guarded Qilby's dofus for thousands of years. Phaeris once again battled Qilby with Yugo in season 2 in this battle both show a strong hatred for one another. When Yugo trapped Qilby in the white dimension yet again Phaeris comforted Yugo saying he did the right thing.
