What Pets Do[]
Other than being adorable and following players around, pets provide passive stat bonuses which increase as they gain levels. A player may have as many pets as they can collect, but they only receive the passive stat bonuses from the equipped pet. Sidekicks can also equip and benefit from pets.
Feeding[]
You can find out what pet food a pet likes by hovering over the fork and knife icon in the pet interface. It is also possible to know if a pet likes an item by dragging it over to the pet interface to see if the dashed line around the fork and knife icon flashes. Once you are ready to feed your pet simply drag the item over the fork and knife icon and let it go. If you drag a stack of items over the icon your pet will only eat one item from the stack.
Feeding your pet more than once per day causes it to lose 1 HP. Not feeding your pet within 3 days of the last feeding causes it to lose 3 HP. Dying in combat will cause your equipped pet to lose 1 HP. Feeding them food they like will not only prevent HP loss but will also earn them one level.
Osamodas Powder (lv 0 chef recipe) is the only item that restores pet health (1 HP). The powder is not subject to the 1-day rule, so it can be used as many times as needed, and it doesn't interfere with the feeding intervals.
Leveling[]
Pets can earn EXP by giving them food that they like to eat once a day. A pet will gain 50 exp for each meal they like. Pets do not gain any experience from any other source, such as battles or quests.
Pets requires a increasing amount of exp depending on its level. Level 0 pets require 50 exp to level, and for each level after a extra 50 exp is added to the requirement. (e.g. a level 26 pet would need 800 exp to level)
