Ogrines come in two forms: linked and unlinked. The only difference being that linked Ogrines can't be sold on the Ogrine market in Dofus.
As with Kamas they have no weight, though an account can only have 180,000 Ogrines at a time.
There are two general ways to obtain Ogrines. The first is to buy them from Ankama. Ogrines obtained like this are not linked, and so can be sold on the Ogrine market in Dofus (as well as used for all other Ogrine services).
Alternatively they can be bought in game (only in Dofus) for kamas at the Ogrine Market (the shortcut to access it is o). Ogrines bought like this are linked, meaning that they cannot be sold again.
They are also sometimes given out as prizes for contests from Ankama, or alongside other Ankama products (such as the Dofus 2.0 Collectors Box).
Ogrines can be used for a variety of things not available via Kamas. They can be used for:
- Pet Enhancements
- Character Customization
- Haven Bag Decorations
As well as the above uses, unlinked Ogrines can be sold on the Ogrine market in Dofus for kamas, essentially allowing people to buy kamas for real life money (by buying Ogrines first then selling them for Kamas).
If unused for a certain amount of time Ogrines will expire and be deleted from the account. The expiry time for Ogrines bought with real life money is $ (Amount of Ogrines/100) + 60 days $. So if you were to buy 3000 Ogrines you'd have 90 days in which to use them (3000 divided by 100 gives 30, plus 60 gives 90 days in total).
Any Ogrines bought from the Ogrine market have an expiry of 90 days, regardless of the quantity.
