A Characteristic that increases your chance of playing first.
Turn order[]
To determine turn order, first the team with the higher average initiative gets the first turn. From there, turns alternate between teams, with the highest initiative member of each team moving first, followed by the second highest and so on, and every participant gets a turn before the next round of turns begins. After the turn order is determined (when the battle starts), it does not change, regardless of initiative changes.
Additionally, when a unit is added to the turn sequence mid-battle, ex: summons and revivals, it is placed immediately after the current unit.
Examples[]
If Team Red has 3 members:
Aaa with 200 initiative
Bbb with 1 initiative
Ccc with 0 initiative
and Team Blue has 3 members:
Aaa with 102 initiative
Bbb with 101 initiative
Ccc with 100 initiative
Team Blue gets the first turn because its average initiative is 101. Team Red's average is 67. So the turn order is as follows:
Aaa (102 ini)
Aaa (200 ini)
Bbb (101 ini)
Bbb (1 ini)
Ccc (100 ini)
Ccc (0 ini)
After Ccc, a new round of turns begins, starting with Aaa.
Low initiative team members can "drag down" a team's average initiative. For another example, if we use the same two teams from the previous example except add two members to Team Blue (before the battle begins)
Ddd with 2 initiative
Eee with 0 initiative
the team average is now 61, lower than Team Red's 67, so Team Red gets the first turn. The turn order would then be
Aaa (200 ini)
Aaa (102 ini)
Bbb (1 ini)
Bbb (101 ini)
Ccc (0 ini)
Ccc (100 ini)
Ddd (2 ini)
Eee (0 ini)
Now for a couple of mid-battle examples. Suppose it's Bbb's turn, and it summons a unit which we'll call Summon1. Summon1's turn is inserted immediately after the current turn (Bbb's). If Bbb then summons a second unit, Summon2, its turn is inserted immediately after Bbb's (which is before Summon1's turn). The turn order is now
Aaa (200 ini)
Aaa (102 ini)
Bbb (1 ini)
Summon2
Summon1
Bbb (101 ini)
Ccc (0 ini)
Ccc (100 ini)
Ddd (2 ini)
Eee (0 ini)
Now supposed Aaa is KOed and later revived by Ddd. The turn order would then become
Aaa (200 ini)
Bbb (1 ini)
Summon2
Summon1
Bbb (101 ini)
Ccc (0 ini)
Ccc (100 ini)
Ddd (2 ini)
Aaa (102 ini)
Eee (0 ini)
