Description[]

Challenges (otherwise known as Environmental Quests or Environmental Challenges) are area-specific timed quests selected by the Challenger of each respective Nation which the player to kill, defeat or interact with certain creatures in the present area. They can be completed either solo or within a group, with each player being awarded a certain amount of experience upon completion.

Challenges require the player's level to be at least the level of the recommended zone. Challenges normally consist of defeating weakened versions of a monster/species or interacting with object Challenges vary from area to area and restart every 5–10 minutes.

Challenges are automatically added to your quest log when they are active and they will be represented by a bright "blue monster" or "green tree" quest icon. All challenges reward experience. In general the higher the challenge difficulty, the higher the amount of XP it rewards.

Types[]

Currently there are 3 main types of challenges available:

Interaction: catch or "shoot" a specific number of creatures in the given time (5 or 10 minutes).
Combat: kill the required number of creatures in the give time (10 or 15 minutes)
Horde: hunt and defeat the required number of Hordes in the given time (2 hours)

Ranked challenges are reminiscent of the old challenge system and the rewards received are based upon how well a player performs. The reward varies in the amount of XP received.

Targets[]

When a challenge requires you to interact with a specific type of creature, special "challenge" versions will spawn into the area. These are marked with a green glowing circle underneath their feet. Killing other creatures, even of the correct type, will not count towards the challenge.

Special challenges that require "catching" or "shooting" a specific static or mobile creature are solo challenges. You can complete them while in a party, but each player has to complete the objectives on it's own.

Hordes Challenges[]

Hordes challenges are indicated by a "green tree" icon in your quest log. They last 120 minutes and are shared across all players in the respective area. This means that if a player successfully defeats one horde, but another player defeats the last one completing the quest, the first player will receive the same rewards as the last one.
